Living environment
The Thiers area is situated in the north eastern part of the Puy de Dome, and is essentially an urban district of the City of cutlers. This pilot territory includes 36 municipalities and has a population of 46 000 inhabitants. The area borders with the Loire department, and the Rhônes Alpes region, but it is also near to Clermont Ferrand , and acts as a gateway to the Auvergne region. The River Dore which takes its source in the Monts du Forez runs through the entire area.
